Can I bring my dog?

Yes, by prior arrangement when booking and we do ask guests to bring disposable bags to clean up after them. Please check pet travel rules well in advance of your visit

Is there WI-FI available and will I have a mobile signal ?

Yes! but for WI-FI in rural France the broadband speeds are not fast! There is good reception for most mobile services at Vaux

Do I need to bring mains euro adaptors ?

No.  Adaptors are available in the gite and mains UK sockets in the anglers’ mill room, but please feel free to bring additional adaptors if you wish

What linen do I need to bring?

Bed linen is supplied, but please remember to bring your own towels and toiletries etc

Can I charge my boat, phone etc

Yes, in the anglers’ mill room which has mains UK sockets

Is there local medical facilities?

Fougères hospital has an emergency department and is a 10 minute drive away.  Remember to bring your EHIC(s)  with you


Can I use bank sticks or must I use pods?

All the swims are 'all-weather' swims with compacted sand, so you can use bank sticks if you prefer

What bait should I bring?

You should bring any bait that you have confidence in and also a good selection of pop-ups

Is there a local tackle shop?

The nearest tackle shop is in St Hilaire du Harcouët, about 25 minutes away.  But please ask Chas who is a keen carp angler and who may be able to help you with rig bits, etc

Is there a bailiff on site?

Chas visits the lake briefly most days and is available for any advice or assistance

Where can I keep my frozen bait?

There is a freezer available for bait in the anglers’ mill room

Can I fish at night?

Yes, this is a private lake and is not subject to French public venue rules
