The Gite

Parking

Vehicle parking is located over the dam wall to the far end and on the left. A large wheelbarrow is available to transport rods and tackle from the parking area to the fishing bank. Cars can also be parked in front of and close to the gite.  Please do not obstruct the driveway that runs along the dam wall and up the hill.  It is used infrequently by local farmers for field access and by the local community accessing the nearby small villages of Le Loroux and St Ellier du Maine.

Kitchen

The large, fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with electric hob and oven, microwave, slow cooker, two fridges, a free-standing freezer, dishwasher, washing machine (no dryer), wash basket and pegs, kettle, toaster, iron, plus all the crockery, glasses, cutlery and pots/pans that you might need. The glass cabinet contains a selection of books. A large table will seat eight. You will find a file on the table on your arrival providing helpful information about the gite and plenty more besides

Living Room

The comfortable, spacious living room has two settees and two armchairs, a coffee table, a large screen television which is tuned in to receive English Sky satellite TV, a dvd player and a cabinet containing a few more books. Please note that only Freesat television programmes are available.  You can bring your own Sky cards with you to watch other channels if you wish, but please remember to remove them from the receiver to take home with you at the end of your holiday

Bedrooms

The three bedrooms comprise of one double room with wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside chests of drawers with lamps, one twin room with wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet with lamp between the beds and a third containing two triple bunk beds (double beds underneath and single bunk above) with one bedside table with lamp, a single cupboard and shelf unit.  Each bedroom has a suitcase stand and all bed linen is included in the price with beds made up

Bathrooms

The large, first floor bathroom has a bath, a large shower cubicle, washbasin, toilet, storage box and towel holder.  The ground floor shower room has a wet room shower, washbasin, towel holder and toilet, where facilities have been provided for the disabled, a handrail by the toilet and in the shower, a fold down seat in the shower and a raised toilet seat when required.  The door into the shower room at 860mm wide allows access for a wheelchair.  The clothes airer is stored here

Garden

Doors from the kitchen and from the living room open onto the garden behind the gîte where you will find the barbeque beside the lake, the picnic table beneath the apple tree and the clothes line.  The garden continues into a meadow area planted with trees and bushes which then leads on into a small wooded area.  Fishing is not allowed along the bank this side of the lake except by the gite.  The splash pool is located in the garden in front of the gite, behind the hedge and near to the Mill

More Information

The person making the booking is responsible for his/her family and his/her guests and for any damage they may cause.  The gîte is no more than 2m from the lake so children must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Included in the price of your holiday are: 

Free Wi-Fi internet (but speeds are not so fast as in the UK)

All bed linen and tea towels (but please bring your own towels) 

Infant’s travel cot and high chair

Carp cradles, weigh slings and tripods

Duvets and pillows must remain in the the gîte and are not for use lakeside or in bivvies

It is a legal requirement that smoking is not permitted in the gîte and we would ask that when smoking outside all cigarette ends are placed in the tubs provided

Drainage is into a private septic tank.  Please do not dispose of any harmful or potentially harmful materials into the waste system, nor any materials (including moist toilet tissue) into the toilets other than ordinary toilet paper

Please do not take any fishing gear into or store any of it in the gite


No bait may be cooked in the gite

 

Would guests with dogs please clean up after them
